The Home Inspection is generally the first part of the due diligence process.
The acquisition of a new home can be stressful. It can involve high levels of anxiety and, often, there are severe time constraints placed on the transaction and on the decision-making process.
A professional Home Inspection serves to remove some of the unknowns from the process and greatly increases the chances of a successful and satisfying purchase.
You will have the security of knowing you have a complete and accurate account of your home's construction as well as the advantage of the opportunity to document construction defects during construction. By finding the problem early, the builder and subcontractors can make the necessary corrections during early construction. New construction inspection packages can consist of daily visits or specific phase inspections such as foundation, pre-drywall inspections, or final pre-closing and end of warranty inspections. A home inspection should not be confused with a code inspection, that is done by the local building inspections department.
End of warranty inspections for a newly constructed home nearing the end of the builder’s 1-year warranty period, also sometimes referred to as "11 month" inspections, is, potentially, of such importance to the new homeowner that its importance cannot be overstated. A professional end of warranty inspection can provide your builder with a thorough, written summary of any defects to be corrected while your new home is still under warranty.
A pre-listing home inspection is for people who are selling their home and want to know what to expect. More and more home sellers are opting to have their house inspected before a buyer comes along. Pre-listing inspections are gaining momentum in both soft and hot real estate markets. After all, why wait until there is a real estate contract on the line to find out if there are any significant defects in the home?
First Flight Home Inspections, Inc. offers onsite Radon sampling for new and existing homes following EPA protocol testing procedures. An accredited laboratory is used for analysis of the samples and a written report is provided to the client upon completion of the lab testing, which is usually available within 7 days.
Radon (Rn) is a potential cancer causing radioactive gas byproduct of decaying uranium. Radon seeps up from the ground into the air and it can also enter the home through well water. It is colorless and odorless and is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States .
Additional Consulting Services are provided for those inspections that are outside the scope of a Home Inspection such as limited inspections of homes and retail commercial buildings.

The fees for a Home Inspection start at $400.00 and typically range between approximately $500.00 and $700.00. The fees are affected by various factors such as the size, age, type of construction, and condition of the home, which directly influences the time required to perform a thorough field inspection. Additional consideration must be made for the time required to perform the necessary research and analysis that may be required to generate a detailed report. Radon Sampling is an additional fee.
